Cirque du Cycling - June 12, 2011
Cirque du Cycling, presented by Laughing Planet Cafe, is a cycle-centric street festival. It begins with family fun and a safe group ride through the neighborhood. Next comes an art-bike parade down Mississippi Avenue with music, performances, floats, tall bikes, small bikes, bikes that you won't believe, and lots of fun surprises.
The grand finale is 2-way bicycle racing down the core of Mississippi Avenue. Stand inches away from the area's fastest racers as they sprint along the 3/4-mile loop. Thousands of fans, food and beer courts, and front yard BBQs greet the racers each lap. The first race is CAT 3, 45 minutes long, open to all ages and genders. The second race is Pro,1,2, 60 minutes, also open to all ages and genders.
Cirque du Cycling is a benefit for the Albina Youth Opportunity School.

Come watch live entertainment and music all afternoon, and an evening criterium street race with a two-way racing right down the middle of Mississippi Avenue.
Relax in one of two race-viewing beer gardens, bring your bike, settle into your lawn chair, peruse the shops of Mississippi Avenue and prepare to be awed by spectacular bicycle tricks and riding feats.
